Why ChromeOS is different

ChromeOS doesn't let an installed app see the rest of the screen — a Linux app in the container would launch happily and record a black rectangle. So the Chromebook version is a web app, which can record and save to your folder, but can't sit in your shelf waiting or claim a keyboard shortcut across the whole system. Those two are real losses and it's better to say so here than to let you find out after downloading.
